Start your business by getting the right advice
Expert advice at the start-up of a business is vital to ensure businesses save time and money and comply with regulations, says Congleton chartered accountant Paul Austen.
Paul is involved in the revamped business start-up counselling service provided by the Borough of Congleton Chamber of Commerce and Enterprise. The service is available to those looking to start a business or anyone running a business for less than a year.
“Starting a business is both an exciting time and very nerve wracking as we can’t be experts in every field. The key is to look for sound advice in areas where you are not comfortable.
“Setting good business principles right from the start is fundamental to sustained growth,” said Paul, Principal of Paul Austen Associates of Wagg Street.
Lack of advice can prove costly. For example, says Paul, many people are unaware that if you do not inform HM Revenue and Custom within three months of starting a business you may be liable for a £100 penalty.
As well as guiding businesses how to grow, Paul Austen Associates also offer advice in other areas such as grant availability.
Chamber Chief Executive Peter Whiers says: “This initiative provides a much needed service for anyone even thinking of starting a business. Getting the right advice at the right time is absolutely vital to business success.”
“The service also gives new businesses access to Chamber and South East Cheshire Enterprise training initiatives,” says Peter.
